In SharePoint on-premises, whether it's SharePoint 2013, 2016, or 2019, the only true option that you have to customize forms without writing any code is to use something called InfoPath. InfoPath is probably one of my favorite products, but unfortunately, Microsoft has decided to start retiring InfoPath in future versions of SharePoint. InfoPath will still be supported until 2026, so we're good for the next little while. However, moving forward, Microsoft wants to start using a new functionality that will be available in SharePoint Online. Of course, you're still able to build forms from scratch using custom code like JavaScript, HTML, etc. But today, what we're trying to do is avoid using custom code and utilize the built-in functionality of the system in the cloud. Office 365 is the subscription that offers a lot of functionality, not just SharePoint as you can see, but things like email, Dynamics 365, forms, OneDrive, OneNote, etc. Today, we'll be focusing on this one tiny little area of Office 365 which is called SharePoint.
